Vest after mastectomy and/or open heart surgery and chest surgeries
A total mastectomy is a surgery that removes all of the breast tissue, including the nipple, areola, and surrounding skin. The surgery is performed when there is a cancerous tumor in one or both breasts. It can also be performed as a preventive procedure for women who are at risk for breast cancer.
A total mastectomy is also performed in cases where there is concern that the lesion will spread to other areas. A total mastectomy is performed under general anesthesia. During the surgery, the surgeon makes an incision around the breast, in order to remove all of the breast tissue. In some cases, the surgeon will also remove some of the lymph nodes from the armpit. After removing the breast tissue, the surgeon closes the area using skin and muscle tissue taken from the abdomen, chest, or back. In some cases, breast reconstruction can be performed as part of the same surgical procedure.
Vest after total mastectomy – why is this important to you?
The recovery process after mastectomy surgery is characterized by pain and movement impairment. During the first few days after surgery, your surgeon will recommend that you wear a vest after a total mastectomy as an integral part of the recovery process. The purpose of the vest is to help you relieve the intensity of pain, protect the area from injury, reduce swelling in the area, and help your body receive the results of the surgery in the best possible way.
The vest after a total mastectomy is approved by the US FDA and recognized by surgeons worldwide as an important part of the first period after a mastectomy. The vest is made of breathable, light and airy fabric that does not irritate the skin or cause sweating. It is designed to be worn around the clock and ensures a full range of motion without interference, even during the night.
So how does a vest work after a total mastectomy?
This unique compression garment was developed to reduce pain and promote good blood flow to the area. To do this, the vest applies constant positive pressure to the surgical area and thus encourages blood flow, which contributes to the removal of waste and swelling that has accumulated in the surgical area during the first few days. The vest after a total mastectomy is made of Naturexx fabric, a highly durable, opaque elastic fabric. The fabric maintains good stretch even after prolonged use and multiple washes. The vest is designed without irons and combines an elastic band and shoulder straps that can be precisely adjusted to your body shape. In addition, the vest after a total mastectomy allows for easy front opening, a significant advantage in the first few days after surgery, when the range of motion is limited.
